When you open an account with us, we ask you to identify your investment objective, choosing one of the options below (ranked generally from more conservative to more aggressive). We also collect basic information on your financial situation, including your investment time horizon, liquidity needs, other investments, and investment experience. We manage your account based on your stated investment objective and the financial circumstances you disclose to us.
If you do not identify an investment objective, it will show up on your statement as “Other.” You can change your investment objective at any time by telling your Wealth Advisor in writing.
|YOUR RISK TOLERANCE||YOUR OBJECTIVE||HOW WE WILL HANDLE YOUR INVESTMENTS BASED ON YOUR OBJECTIVE|
|Conservative||Preservation of Principal||Avoid risk to principal; protecting your original investment against loss is more important than its growth|
|Moderately conservative||Income||Generate income from investments with a low degree of risk of loss of principal value|
|Tax-Favored Income||Create tax-favored income and maintain stable principal value|
|Moderate||Growth and Income||Balance long-term growth and income|
|Income with Occasional Speculation||Generate income; generally keep principal safe, but occasionally invest in more-volatile securities to pursue potential growth|
|Moderately aggressive||Aggressive Income||Generate high income by investing in securities that involve risk of principal fluctuation and loss|
|Growth with Occasional Speculation||Increase principal quickly or dramatically in exchange for greater risk|
|Long-Term Growth||Grow asset value, with less emphasis on current income|
|Aggressive||Short-Term Trading||Buy and sell securities frequently to try to capitalize on gains or minimize losses (or both) quickly|
|Speculation||Increase principal value significantly by investing in securities with a demonstrated high degree of risk|
